The NoBrake team, an undergraduate club at Incheon National University of Technology, won the grand prize (the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award) at the 3rd EV Energy Challenger (Electric Vehicle Fuel Economy Competition) organized by the Korea Energy Corporation and the Korea Automobile Engineering Association on the 6th.

This competition is designed to promote the excellent utility and technology of electric vehicles and to contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality by training new professionals in the future. A total of 20 teams participated, and the top four teams were selected by evaluating three items: vehicle design report, theoretical test, and fuel efficiency measurement. Among them, the NoBrake team at Incheon National University, which won the grand prize (the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award), is developing with new attempts every year.

This year's vehicle, manufactured by the NoBrake team, was able to achieve significant weight reduction through the introduction of aluminum frames through structural analysis, structural analysis and phase optimization of various parts, and actively introduced in-wheel motors to minimize power loss in the drive system. In addition, the three-way battery pack was manufactured on its own to save purchase costs and finish durable racing based on excellent energy capacity and output performance.

Incheon National University's NoBrake team consists of a total of 40 students, and is a club where students from engineering colleges who are interested in automobiles come together to design and manufacture single-seat racing cars. By designing and manufacturing electric cars by participating in their own car competitions, they have learned the overall driving method of the car and motor and battery technologies, which are essential elements of electric vehicles, and after graduation, they have gained experience to help them enter not only the automobile sector but also various manufacturing sectors such as semiconductors and batteries.
